I love caricatures and I feel they depict the 'real funny side' of you..atleast thats what caricaturist claim...
When I had been to Italy I tried my hand out at gettin myself caricatured!!!..I was so excited and since I paid a hefty 20 euros, I righteoulsy expected it to be quite like me!!
When I have too much expectations about a stuff, it always end in a great mishap and so did this!!!......after a gruelling 10 min 'statue pose',least i expected was to see the pic and not to have the slightest inkling that it was me....
adding fuel to the fire, the caricaturist next to him was charging only 10 euros for the same job...grrrrrrrrr!!!
If I take this home, I have to undergo the ignominy of explaining it to everyone that its 'me'...I am thinking of framing it labeled with my name....to avoid anyone speculating coz someone with great creativity might say it looks like step sister of cindrella!!
well its ok ..coz once before when i went to windsor castle(official residence of queen elizabeth II) I dressed like a princess and took a pic and gave my mom.....she proudly giggled that I had a aristrocratic look..so two sides of same coin!!!
'Objects in the mirror are very different from what you want them to appear'...

Whoz the Owner?

Commercial I recently enjoyed on T.V :
When We buy a car,
we buy the obligation to choose the best to make us proud,
we buy the quest to fit the best of accesssories,
we buy the neccessity to feed it with petrol whatever the price is,
we buy the compulsion to clean it regularly,
we buy the fondness to travel more miles than required,
we buy the impulse to compare it with other's car
So, Who's Incharge in this relationship??

Food for Thought!!

When you are single and 4500 miles from home, parents, friends and relatives you really need a a big hook to pull you away from monster of boredom, esp during weekends.
Atleast I needed:)
After three trips around europe and not missing a tourist attraction in UK ,I was not able to save my soul cribbing from solitude. Oh! Did I forget to tell that I had already tried the regular experiments of being glued to T.V , watching movies on internet ,trying out receipes of disaster.
Suprsingly One day couple of weeks bfr Christmas, when I was busy scanning through the best christmas offers for electronic and clothing items on the High street, I was handed out a leaflet of mass prayer in a catholic church in town center.
I went to chruch the next day out of curiosity to know what happens in a mass to and also to make my sunday morning more meaningful.
First time in this sleepy small town, mostly consisting of senior citizens I could see people in some decent numbers. Otherwise my usual site would be broad roads with trees and greenary everywhere, just one or two humans walking their dogs.
Now being a regular chruch goer,I have got a different perception of life, seeing world as my extended family and praying for someone whom I havent met .I have made some real good freinds too, just that they are 40 or 45 years elder to me:):)...well its a diffrent kinda experience and I seem to enjoy it.
After a year here, when I told my friends that I might be leaving this place for good ,everyone felt bad and One was quick to give me some grandmotherly advice.
She told me that the only one thing which will come along with me wherever I go is 'Whatever I grow inside myself' .
She was more quicker to ask ' what I grow in me'??I was smart enough to evade answering telling 'that seems to be a million dollar question' to me ,but the truth is I didnt know the answer.
Then she told me 'whatever it is, never grow bitterness or sorrow'.

To be or Not to be!!

I always wonder how true the adage is -
The hardest thing to learn in life is which bridge to cross and which to burn.
or simply put it- Decision Making
One thing I hate to make.
I try shunning away, ignore, forget, even sleep to get up amnestic the next day, yet it always follows me in every breath of my life!!
Wish I could have been an ostrich, bury my head in sand..but how long?until my neck breaks?
When I wonder abt all the desions I have made till now, some fairly easy, some really tough, some gave a sense of pride, some regretful, some funny, some painful and many yet to make!!!
I am learning that decison making is an art, a piece of work which defines the trajectory of one' life.
It finally drills down to a simple choice between
want and need
wish and desire
like and love.
From what I have learnt, good decisions come from Experience and Experience comes from bad decisions.
P.S : Guess Philosopher in me woke up:):)

Action and Reaction
No,its not about 'Every Action has an equal and opposite reaction'.
It is about ,'Should every action neccesarily have an equal and opposite reaction'?
Under the laws of science, newton might be true but under the laws of humanity he need not be.Actions may/may not be controlled, but definitely reactions can be.
It would be too saintly to stay calm when someone dear to me suffers from heartattack, atleast my reaction need not create another one for them.
What if my best friend forgot to wish on my brithday? I can choose not to get disappointed, instead tell her ways of remembering it.
What if my brother breaks my favorite glass sovenier from france, I need not yell at him at top of my voice,if not able to wear a smile for his act.
What if my collegue misplaces the imp document of mine?though I might be really irritated, i could just say ' it happens'.
We face so many actions each day, it really is the reaction we choose that makes or breaks the day.
I say to myself everytime when i am in such situation, the reaction need not be positive or good always but it need not hurt or damage (us/anyone) either.

Receipe for Life

200 gms - What you want to get from life
50 gms – Interest (Colour)
100 gms – Attempt (Water)
10 gms– Compromise (Lemon)
3 cubes- Listening (aginamoto)
A small piece – Patience (tamarind)
A Pinch- Confidence (Salt)
1 table spoons –commitment (oil)
2 spoons - Acceptance (Garam masala)
A Pinch –Love (Coriander)
Soak the main ingrediant in mind as much as you want to it to sink in you.
Add a bit of interest (coloring agent) to it so that it never becomes a burden or thing of despair.
Now mix it well with Attempt to get good consistency .Note that more the attempt the more the consistency you will get and better the dish turns out to be.
Now add bit of listening .It gives others’ ideas upon you which adds good flavour to your receipe.
Never forget to add 2 table spoons of commitment. It always lubricates the dish whenever there is a consistency issue and keeps you going.
Add Patience to water called temper, mix it well and pour it over the main ingredient. This is a bit sour as it is always not easy to be patient but will definitely add taste to your receipe.
Now stir it well with a pinch of confidence. As this defines the taste of the dish, never keep it low nor too high just the optimum.
Squeeze 2 to 3 drops of Compromise all over. Not all things go your way and so you need a bit of it. When tasted alone it’s bitter, but gives a great flavour.
As the dish is almost done, if it didn’t turn out to be as you expected sprinkle some of acceptance to it, you cant do anything more. It’s not a magic spice, but can never make a good receipe without it.
Finally garnish it with a bit of love before serving as it gives a special taste!!!

Road Less Travelled

A pair of blue eyes was gazing at a particular item kept inside a glamoursly decorated window of street dedicated to big brands. These longing eyes belonged to a young boy who didnt dare to look at the price of those skating shoes coz all he could afford is to say "All Day I Dream About Sports" and not to buy the same brand.
He caught the attention of a lady who was doing her last minute shopping, buying gifts for friends and family as there was only a couple of days left for festival. She walked past the boy an hour before when he was in the same position leaning on that window as he is now.His body didnt make any movements while his eyes alone spoke a million words desirious of possessing those shoes .
From his looks she could make out that his mom made a very humble living and that answered her questions about his yearning. She felt pity, walked past him again and less than a few yards away, got reminded of her new year resolution to gift someone what they culdnt afford.
She took the boy into the shop, bought the shoes and when she handed it to him those eyes were flooded with thanks and the ray of bliss ran thorugh his face.
Without hesitation he asked ' Are you God?'.Baffled for a moment the lady answered 'No dear,I am his Child'.
With a great sense of self accomplishment he told' I definitely thought you must be of some relation'.
